Appearance:

Tinya is tall, and has legs that go up to there. At the age of 23, her body is, quite frankly, rather impressive. Tinya’s soft curves and slender limbs seem to give her a near unapproachable look. Her long, black hair falls in soft waves down her back, ending near her waist. She won’t admit how much she likes pampering her hair, but she often spends the time after a mission showering, then making sure the tresses are as smooth and soft as possible.

Tinya’s super hero uniform is a white unitard, clinging from her neck to her feet like a second skin. The material cannot be ripped by human hands; a feature added with the Legion girls in mind. There are ovals cut over each shoulder, her waist, cleavage, and outer thighs. There are rectangle cuts from the back of each middle upper arm to the bottom of the black lower arm. Each one reveals her slightly olive skin. Around Tinya’s waist is her Legion belt. With the iconic buckle, it loops around her with thin metal bands connected by matching gold circle plates. Her Legion Flight ring rests on her right middle finger.

Tinya’s eyes are honey gold, and flash when she’s annoyed or frustrated. Their almond shape highlights her narrow face and high cheekbones. Her lips are usually highlighted with lipstick, but little other makeup is noticeable.

As a Veteran Legionnaire, one of the first to join, Tinya rarely wears anything other then her uniform. Given the chance, she probably would love dresses, anything from formal to throw-on.

Personality:

Phantom Girl is the friend everyone wants to turn to. She gives advice, but in a big sisterly way. She’s the girl that knows to quietly slip away when her friend is talking to their crush, and the one that boy’s sprint to franticly in need of dating advice.

This does not mean she’s above friendly teasing, or being firm in her believes. She’s willing to stand up to Timber Wolf, one of the more unpredictable and violent Legionnaires. Tinya once even brought his temper up, saying it should have him kicked out of the Legion, and despite his threats to kill her before she could phase and his claims that her ability was useless, she didn’t back down and continued getting in his face until they were broken apart.

Tinya is a little possessive of her ancient comic book collection. When people mess with it, she’s bound to mess with them. She doesn’t like her stuff being touched or her privacy ignored.

In one of the other Legion continuities, Tinya was thought dead, and her teammates wrote this on her gravestone: No Legionnaire served more honorably. No woman loved and was loved more deeply. While this isn’t the version this Tinya is from, that just indicates who exactly she is to the rest of her team.

Strengths/Weaknesses

Abilities/Strengths:

Phasing- Tinya’s home planet is in the exact same location as Earth. It exists in a pocket in the universe, and Tinya is the only one able to cross between these dimensions at will. Thus, she can phase through solid objects. Phantom Girl uses selective phasing to dodge an opponent’s attack while responding with a solid punch of her own. She has come to find that phasing through machinery can short circuit is. She can take some objects, and maybe a person with her during a phasing, but little is known about the exact numerical limits. She has never tried phasing more then one other person at a time.

Helpfulness- Often, if someone needs to talk, Tinya is there. She is known to kick back with a comic and give dating advice to the guys, or stay up late and reassure the girls. Whenever Karate Kid gets hurt, its always Tinya Garth calls to help lug him to the medical center [“are you OK, KK?” being the common question].

Weaknesses:

Phasing- Tinya must be focused while doing selective phasing. Also, for instance, if someone has a bullet in their arm, she can’t just phase through and pull it out, since it’s become part of their body, in a sense that it’s buried in flesh and muscle. While it hasn’t happened yet, there is always the possibility of Tinya getting stuck in her “ghost form.” She doesn’t know the number of people she can phase, mostly due to her lack of motivation to find out. She doesn’t want to leave someone behind mid phase…

Visibility- Tinya is still visible while phasing, thus cannot become truly “ghost-like.”

Nosey- While it isn’t a dominate part of her personality, Phantom Girl can be a little, well, curious. Like any young woman, she likes knowing what’s going on with her friends and enemies. Luckily for everyone, she’s more of an information station then a Gossip Girl.

History

Tinya was born the only child of the widow Winema Wazzo. Winema was the United Planet’s Bgztl representative, although her active involvement was hindered due to the dimensional situation. Tinya’s mother always was a hard force in her life, but they had a good relationship.

Everyone thought that she had an overactive imagination, due to Tinya talking to what seemed to be many imaginary friends. Suddenly, it was discovered that when this was going on, she became intangible. She wasn’t talking to imaginary friends, she was talking to Earthlings! And on Earth, she was as solid as anyone else.

Thus, Tinya discovered her ability to phase between worlds, making her intangible or tangible on Earth. When she phases she is visible in both universes and often engages in conversations or activities in the two realities at the same time, causing much confusion to those around her.

Tinya was invited to join the Legion early on, and was in fact one of the first five members. Her time in the Legion has been calm, strained by tough missions but she has been strong enough to support the members who were more effected by the events then herself.

Relationships

(OU) Dick Grayson
Roommate, first person to have met in Econtra. Tinya is very attracted to the charming and polite hero, even though they are still in the beginning stages of a relationship. Currently dating.

(AU) Lyle Norg
Teammate. They’re from the same reality, so they easily fall into a familiar field around each other. Lyle is a little hesitant around the older Legionnaire, but Tinya has no problem ruffling his hair or bothering him in a big sisterly way.

(AU) Dani Phantom
A girl that shares one of her abilities. Tinya has gotten a bit of advice from Dani, and appreciates the teen’s help.

(OU) Brainiac 5
Teammate. Loves this younger, less serious and withdrawn version of Brainy.

(OU) Live Wire
Teammate. Tinya has to bite back making comments about his relationship with Imra in her world. Puts up with his flirting and enjoys teasing him.

(OU) Robin
Dick’s younger self. Pleasant. Tinya tries to be friendly, but senses some confusion about her from the kid.

(OU) Tim Drake
Dick’s younger brother. Seems very nice.
